CargoMo is a marketplace that connects senders in the United States with independent balikbayan box forwarders who ship to the Philippines. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using CargoMo you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to create bookings, coordinate pickups, process payments, and keep you updated on your shipment:
- Account details — your name, email address, profile photo, and whether you signed in with Google or Apple.
- Contact and pickup details — your phone number and pickup address (street, city, state, ZIP).
- Recipient details you save — the name, phone number, and Philippine address of the people you ship to.
- Booking and shipment details — box size and quantity, reference number, batch, and milestone tracking history.
- Payment details — card payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. Cash bookings record only the amount and whether it was collected.
- Forwarder verification — if you apply to become a forwarder, identity verification is handled by Stripe Identity.
- Device details — your push notification token and device platform, so we can send shipment updates.
2. How we use your information
- To match you with forwarders, create bookings, and track shipments.
- To coordinate pickups — your phone number and pickup address are shared with the forwarder you book.
- To process card payments and apply the platform fee.
- To send push notifications about your bookings and shipment milestones.
- To verify forwarders and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. How information is shared
We share information only as needed to run the service. We do not sell your personal information. Service providers we rely on include:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (hosted in the United States).
- Stripe — card payment processing and forwarder identity verification.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivery of push notifications.
- Resend — booking confirmation emails.
- Google and Apple — sign-in.
When you book, the forwarder receives the details necessary to complete your shipment, including your name, phone number, pickup address, and the recipient details you provided.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored with Supabase in the United States. Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS), access is controlled by row-level security and authenticated sessions, and payment card data is held by Stripe under its own security standards rather than by CargoMo.
5. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us at [email protected].
When you delete your account, your profile, saved recipients, push notification tokens, and the personal contact details on your past bookings are removed or redacted within 30 days.
For legal, tax, and accounting compliance we retain anonymized booking and payment records that can no longer be linked back to you. Stripe retains payment data according to its own retention policies.
For everyone's protection, deletion is unavailable while you still have boxes in transit, or — if you are a forwarder — while you have active batches. Complete or close them first. See our Delete Account page for details.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent at any time. These rights are provided under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173) and, for Texas residents, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. To exercise them, use the in-app controls or contact us.
7. Children
CargoMo is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
